This video chronicles the foundation of Jacob Massaquoi work of activism and dedication to volunteerism and public service in Liberia. The International Association of Volunteer Effort (IAVE) Liberia Chapter was founded by Jacob Massaquoi immediately following his appointment by Ken Alien, PhD., World President, IAVE at the First IAVE African Regional Conference held in Abuja, Nigeria in August of 2000. The launching event kicked-off with a tour of IAVE-Liberia Volunteer Center formerly housed in the old National Book Store at the intersection of Carey & McClain Street, Monrovia. Following the tour, IAVE Liberia volunteers proceeded to the Group of 77th on Newport Street, Monrovia and provided voluntary cleaning service. On the following day 24 November 2000, the official launching program was held at the University of Liberia Auditorium.
